When Alexis and Joshua envisioned their dream wedding, they pictured an all-inclusive destination wedding venue experience that delivered a luxurious, stress-free celebration surrounded by breathtaking views. With the help of Margaret Claire’s Weddings & Events and the unmatched resources of The Trillium, their vision came to life on Sunday, May 19, 2024. Planners like Margaret Claire, who offer full-service planning, florals, catering, décor, linens, and DJ services, make wedding days at The Trillium truly turn-key and stress-free.
The day began in the private bridal suite, where Bangs & Blush worked their magic on hair and makeup. Alexis and her three bridesmaids shared laughter, happy tears, and a champagne toast. Alexis wore a classic fitted white gown from Savvy Bridal Boutique with dramatic silk buttons cascading down the back and train. She paired it with a cathedral veil, pearl teardrop earrings, a delicate gold necklace, and a diamond tennis bracelet. Her Jimmy Choo heels certainly completed the elegant bridal look, along with a timeless white bouquet accented by soft greenery. Her bridesmaids each wore a unique champagne gold gown, carrying bouquets to match the bride’s.
Meanwhile, Joshua got ready in The Trillium’s spacious groom’s lounge with three groomsmen. They all dressed in matching black tuxes and bow ties from The Black Tux. With the rolling glass doors lifted, the guys soaked in the fresh Smoky Mountain air. It was an especially exciting morning at The Trillium Wedding Venue!
Before the ceremony, Alexis shared a first look with her father. Significantly, He gifted her a handkerchief embroidered with a heartfelt message for his daughter on her wedding day. In return, she gifted him a keepsake of her own, thanking him for always walking by her side.
In lieu of a traditional first look, the couple shared a quiet, emotional moment on wedding morning. They held hands back-to-back and exchanged heartfelt letters. It was one of those tear-worthy moments that highlighted just how connected they are.
Guests arrived to jaw-dropping panoramic views of the Great Smoky Mountains of Tennessee. White roses and baby’s breath lined the open-air patio. Margaret Claire’s team created a floral design that felt elegant and modern. The sun shone brightly above. Big, fluffy clouds drifted across the sky and accented the scene rather perfectly.
The wedding party walked down the aisle two by two. Anticipation built with each step. Then came the moment Joshua saw Alexis for the first time. Her cathedral veil floated behind her and at last, she made her way toward him. Chuck O’Connor led a heartfelt ceremony filled with love and laughter. Their kiss sealed the start of a beautiful new chapter.
Guests gathered under the covered patio for a lively cocktail hour. They enjoyed sipping handcrafted drinks from Single Barrel Events and grazing on an epic charcuterie spread and soft pretzel bar curated by Margaret Claire’s catering team. Designer lounge areas were thoughtfully styled throughout the space. This offered guests cozy spots to catch up, relax, and soak in the fresh mountain air.
While guests mingled, Alexis and Joshua slipped away for their first moments alone as newlyweds—captured in the most stunning post-ceremony portraits by Leah Nicole Photo—before rejoining their crew for fun wedding party photos, all captured on film by Young Videography.
Their grand entrance through the breezeway kicked off the evening festivities, followed by a dreamy first dance on the open-air patio. Sweet parent dances added even more heart to this unforgettable mountain celebration.
As guests made their way inside the Grand Hall, they passed a stylish black arched seating chart and fun neon signage. Even the foyer made a statement, featuring a five-tier black glass shelf filled with framed photos of Alexis and Joshua.
Inside, the reception was styled to perfection with a classic black, white, and gold palette by Margaret Claire’s design team. Black linen tablecloths popped against our natural wood x-back chairs. Each table was elegantly set with gold chargers, china, gold flatware, beaded glassware, and black table numbers. Centerpieces varied, some featuring glass hurricanes with pillar candles and others bursting with lush arrangements of white roses and baby’s breath.
The head table brought all the drama in the best way, framed by a stunning table arbor dressed in florals and candles. As guests dined and listened to speeches, they were treated to uninterrupted Smoky Mountain views from every window—a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
Dessert included a classic white beaded wedding cake and cupcakes displayed on sleek black stands, all created by Regina Long. Yes, even the cake had a view of the mountains!
Before hitting the dance floor, Alexis and Joshua changed into their comfy sneakers and kicked off the party under string lights and the open night sky. Margaret Claire’s DJ kept the energy high, and from the youngest guests to the matriarchs, everyone was dancing the night away. A fun bouquet toss added even more excitement!
They ended the night with a private last dance—just the newlyweds—before heading out through a frame-worthy glow wand and bubble exit. An particularly epic wedding that will surely grace The Trillium Instagram!
